Closet Organizers
A Great Invention for Organized Living

Closet organizers are a great invention for creating a place for everything in your closet.

There are so many variations and you have choices of purchasing units for do it yourself installation or having a closet system installed by a professional company.

Size Really Does Matter

Styles and choices of closet systems are plentiful. Your choice will be influenced by:

  • the size of your wallet
  • the size of your closet
  • the size of your wardrobe
  • you personal needs and organizing style

Advantages of closet organizers

  • everything has a home

  • no more procrastination - no decisions are needed about where to put something.

  • double your space - you will almost double the amount of lineal hanging and shelf space in a standard 8 foot closet.

  • your clothes will last longer - crowded closets can crush lapels and collars, and you will spend less time ironing!

  • you don't trip on shoes anymore!

  • you are less likely to purchase duplicates when you can see all the items of clothing that you own.

  • the value of your home is enhanced.

Disadvantages of Closet Organizers?

The only disadvantage might be the cost but there are so many types and styles that you can find one that is within your budget and your "Do It Yourself" skill level.

Closet systems don't have to cost a lot. Here is a cheap closet organizer system. You can achieve closet organization for under $100!

Types of closet systems

  • floor supported or wall mounted - Some units you install from the floor up and others are mounted directly to the wall.

  • hanging systems - some closet systems are designed to be mounted in a closet that has an existing horizontal closet road and shelf. These systems either hang from the existing rod or are floor supported and clip to the horizontal hanging rod as a top support. View an example here in the first photo on the page.

  • wire shelving or solid shelving - Wire shelving does not collect dust but allows small items to slip through. Solid shelving is heavier and more expensive.

  • cabinets or track systems - Some closet systems have free standing cabinets that just require fastening to the wall to stabilize them and other systems have tracks that are mounted to the wall and the cabinets hang from the track system
