Tips to
Organize Your Home
to
Prevent House Odor of the Canine Variety
Doggy odor control begins with prevention.

These tips to organize your home remind you that just like the humans who live there your pets must get
bathed and have their laundry done on a regular basis.
Dog odor removal requires immediate removal of waste and preventing the build up of organic matter donated by your canine friends.
Eliminating dog odor can be as simple as simmering your favourite spices with vinegar on the stove. If you have pet messes that require cleanup use a specialty
enzyme cleaners
that will
breakdown organic matter and stop the bacterial action that causes household dog odor.
Your efforts to create an organized home should prompt guests to say
"You have a lovely home."
NOT
"Oh you have a dog!"
Doggy Odor Control
The typical dog odor comes from whatever comes off or out of your dog. Dander, fur, skin, dirt on the
paws and urine, feces, or vomit will all leave a
distinctive scent that may be interesting to your dog, and to other dogs but not to you or other humans.
Bacteria act on the organic matter donated by your dog and as decomposition occurs it creates the typical
doggy odor.
You can prevent the build up of this odor in your home by cleaning up messes when they occur, and regularly washing your pet and your pet's linens.
Tips for an Organized Home
Doggy Laundry Day
- Wash pet linens once through the entire cycle then put the washer through the rinse cycle again.
- You must use a hot wash not a cool or warm water wash. Dry on hot for at least twenty minutes.
The high temperatures are necessary to kill the bacteria and the
insect eggs or larvae that may be present.
- Spread human smells not dog odor around the house. When you vacuum your pet's area put a dryer sheet next to the exhaust on your vacuum.
- Mix peppermint oil with baking soda and a touch of borax and sprinkle on your carpets at night before you plan to vacuum. This will help to control odors and fleas.
It is your Organized Home not the Dog's Organized Home
It all comes down to how to set priorities.
Your home should not smell as if you live in a dog house! After all your dog lives in your house not the other way around!
Your home should smell as if you are in control NOT the dog.
