A Fond Memory
circa 1979
As young housewife and new mother I remember very clearly the turmoil that returning to work caused in my
heart and my head! I was very fortunate to hire a grand nanny for our 10 month old son and the
return to my career as a nurse educator went very smoothly.
A most vivid memory was going into my linen closet to put something away and noticing that my linen supply had all
been refolded. Not only did my grand nanny know how to look after our son but she managed to get
all the linen folded and they all ended up the same size!
Surely one of life's small pleasures is to see a neat and orderly linen supply!
At a time when I was struggling with all the changes that were happening, the orderly
linen supply made me feel that at least something was under control!
