It seems everyone is busy all the time. In fact being busy is the most common reason offered for not attending to decisions and small tasks that can help to keep your life in control and clutter free. In the household hints section, organizing tips for managing everyday household tasks will be offered so that you really can achieve an organized home and an organized life! Why do we even need household hints or organizing tips?Organizing tips in days gone by.........The middle class is a relatively new social class in the developed world. It is not that far back in history when people had very few material possessions. Storage and organizing was something that was only needed for farming implements, housing and feed for animals, or the food preserves to get through winter. Household hints and organizing tips were passed down from parents to children in a oral tradition since it was expected that children would live a life very similar to their parents, and indeed they did! Before the emergence of the middle class the only people who had wealth were people who came from a
During these times when there were only the rich and poor in a society it is quite likely that the only written information on household hints for organizing your home was in books used in finishing schools for girls from wealthy families!
It all started to change when the printing press was invented. Books made it easier for the poor to obtain knowledge (once they learned to read) and knowledge led to the ability to earn more money. Money led to the ability to own property and owning property allowed people to accumulate wealth. Wealth was no longer something that had to be inherited, it could now be created! It was this ability to establish wealth that created the middle class and along with that wealth came busy lives and clutter! Of course the wealth created by the middle class was not usually substantial wealth and although it allowed the accumulation of material goods it was not enough wealth to live the life of the rich and famous. There was simply not enough money to pay for a household staff to take care of household chores and over time the busy household of today emerged. The modern contemporary family tries to manage this busy lifestyle with no role models, no household hints, and no
organizing tips passed down from parents (very few that work anyway). You do it all.............and you are making it up as you go along because the contemporary family in the modern developed world has simply never existed before!
