Towel Folding Techniques for Laundry Day

Towel folding is an unavoidable chore on laundry day. There are ways to fold towels that promote more control and result in a pleasing orderly appearance when the towels are stored.

Generally towels should always be folded lengthwise first. You can see this in both videos.

Folding lengthwise means the towels come out of the cupboard ready to hang on the towel bar.

You can make the lengthwise fold in half or in thirds depending on the width of the towel and the width of the towel bar they have to fit on.

If you make the first fold crosswise then you will have to re-fold it to get it on the bathroom towel bar.

If you have room on the counter in your bathroom, stack the folded towels there ready for use. Or you can even roll them and place them in a storage basket so they remain tidy and within reach.
